Food & Emotion

Emotional eating is rooted in the need to control a deeper, often subconscious, wound or pain. It represents the longing to reconnect to that less-accessed part of our self.

Emotional eating is NOT about the lack of willpower and is never solved by dieting.

Emotional eating is not stopping when hunger is satisfied.

                            is eating when not hungry.

                            is overeating and undereating.

seems like the only way to be in control.

is the symptom, not the problem.

Food is there when (we think) nothing else is.

Food numbs us as we swallow our feelings.

Food is an anchor.

Food is what we know best.

Food fills the empty spaces of lonliness, shame, sadness...

TRANSFORMATION IS POSSIBLE

Issues of food and weight can be resolved by going within.
Trust that the healing can be found buried under well-established negative beliefs, destructive self-talk & behavior, and the feeling that change just isn't possible.

“When we make decisions, about eating or anything else, with an
attitude of kindness and acceptance toward ourselves, with awareness
of what is involved
in our choices, the conflict between deprivation
and indulgence ceases to exist.”
